OTC History

• The OTC came together as a team in California during its Pilot Inititiative centred around a Wireless Conference in San Jose in December 2003

• The main purpose was to begin to generate greater interest in the three regions through this collaborative exercise

• The joint initiative continued to target California in 2004 and 2005

• The OTC partners have worked closely with the Canadian Consulates and Embassy in these target markets and with the Provincial in-market specialists to build a team approach

• The pilot initiatives in California and the UK have benefited each of the participating regions

• With increased partnership through MEDT and our private sector and institutional partners and intermediaries in each region, the program moving to a higher level of cooperation, resulting in even greater capacity-building and long term results
